Strabane man Ethan McDowell will launch his latest documentary film ‘Children of the Troubles’ at The Alley Theatre on Saturday 12th May at 8pm.
The Pickle and Co. Productions piece will examine the stories of people from all backgrounds during the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
The documentary focuses on the events that unfolded during that time, each person’s story from their own perspective, and how the turbulent period has impacted on the people of the north to this day.
Ethan McDowell grew up in Strabane hearing the stories of normal people whose lives were changed dramatically by The Troubles and knew how important it was that these stories were shared.
“We have worked hard to represent people from all backgrounds and have created an unbiased account of the events which have unfolded in a way never seen before,” he said.
“The film gives a true history and account of what it was like to live through that period, in the hope that these stories shall not be lost through the generations and never forgotten.
“We believe that its vital that those in Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and further afield should all be able to hear what happened during this conflict, as so many people still know so very little about it to this day.’
Tickets for ‘Children of the Troubles’ are £9, £7 (con) and available from the Alley Theatre Box Office on 028 71 384444 or online www.alley-theatre.com.
